Dr. Sudha Rao is a Specialist Paediatrician (DCH, MGCP & FWACP-Paediatrics) with more than 16 years of experience in Paediatric clinical practice. She has a special interest and expertise in Paediatric Allergy and Paediatric Haematology/Oncology. She has proven track record of providing comprehensive, superior quality and family centred Paediatric health care services that include newborn assessment, growth and development monitoring at the well-baby clinics, pubertal assessment, administration of Childhood vaccines based on recommended National and International vaccination schedule, and management of common childhood illnesses such as Pharyngo-tonsillitis, Otitis Media, Gastro-intestinal and Urinary tract infections. She is also conversant in the follow up care of Preterm babies, including monitoring their growth and development, visual and hearing evaluation, and management of anaemia and metabolic bone disease of prematurity . Dr. Sudha is highly skilled in common Paediatric procedures including immunisations, intravenous line placement, nebulisation, neonatal and Paediatric resuscitation techniques. She is up-to-date and certified in AHA (American Heart Association) endorsed Basic Life Support (BLS) and Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) services.

 

Dr. Sudha is well experienced in managing Paediatric Allergy related disorders such as Eczema, Allergic Rhinitis, Asthma and Food Allergies including Cow’s milk protein allergy, based on International Standardised guidelines. Dr. Sudha is highly proficient in the evaluation of disorders of development such as ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team when required. She is also highly efficient in providing comprehensive management of Paediatric Haematological disorders such as Sickle Cell disease with commencement of Hydroxyurea, Thalassaemia, and vascular malformations such as Haemangioma. Dr. Sudha is vastly skilled in management of Paediatric nutritional disorders including childhood overweight, inadequate weight gain, and management of Nutritional anaemia secondary to micronutrient deficiencies collaborating with Paediatric Nutritionists and Clinical Psychologists.
